We FINALLY finished our documentary, SLAVERY IS A CHOICE, and what a journey it has been!
When Vince Everett Ellison first told me he wanted to make a documentary arguing that slavery was a choice, I thought he had lost his mind. I didn't agree with his premise, and I certainly didn't anticipate that two years later, I'd be sitting here defending the very argument I initially challenged.
But that's exactly what happened.
In this candid behind-the-scenes conversation, Vince and I reflect on the making of our documentary, the disagreements that helped shape it, the incredible story of his family, and the unexpected moments that we believe demonstrate God's providence throughout this project.
We also discuss the film's central themes: freedom, faith, courage, personal responsibility, and the ideological chains that Vince believes continue to hold Americans captive.
And yes, we finally have a RELEASE DATE!
