I share how I was raised in a Christian environment, surrounded by strong women who meant well but couldn’t shield me from the emotional and spiritual confusion I would later face. Like many young women, my college years brought challenges, including an unplanned pregnancy and abortion that left me broken and searching for answers.

That search led me to New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Georgia—then under the leadership of the now-disgraced pastor Eddie Long. What I found there was not the Gospel, but a dangerous cocktail of emotionalism, prosperity gospel, and false teaching that masked itself as truth.

This is my story of how God, in His mercy, rescued me—not just from a toxic church environment, but from the spiritual deception that almost cost me everything.
