At the 2026 Emmys, none of the major acting prizes on the main telecast went to actors of color—and predictably, #EmmysSoWhite resurfaced.
But I have a bigger question. If Hollywood is supposedly racist, oppressive and unwilling to “see” Black people, why does its validation still matter so much?
In this episode, we're talking about representation, merit, racial grievance, Black institutions, the endless search for approval—and why your identity should never depend upon whether somebody hands you a trophy.
For Christians, this goes even deeper. Our identity is not rooted in melanin, representation or cultural applause. We are image-bearers created by God, and ultimately there is only one Audience that matters.
