The Nolan Wells case took a dramatic turn after a Jackson County grand jury unanimously returned a NO TRUE BILL, declining to indict anyone in connection with the 18-year-old's death.
But District Attorney Angel Myers McIlrath didn't stop with the grand jury announcement.
In an unusually direct public statement, the DA challenged several narratives surrounding the investigation and accused Ben Crump's legal team of knowing information that contradicted claims circulating publicly.
Now Crump and Nolan Wells' family are pushing back. They point to the still-undetermined cause and manner of death, unexplained bruising documented during the autopsies, and are calling for continued—and potentially federal—investigation.
