WHEN EVEN CNN STARTS ASKING WHETHER YOU'RE THE PROBLEM... MA'AM, WE NEED TO TALK! 😂
Florida Democratic Senate candidate Angie Nixon suggested that some donors are hesitant to invest more heavily in her campaign because they believe Florida is too racist to elect a Black woman.
But CNN's Victor Blackwell had a very reasonable question:
**Why assume it's racism rather than YOU, your policies, or your affiliation with the Democratic Socialists of America?**
WHEW! Blackwell pointed out that Democratic donors gave former Florida Senate candidate Val Demings approximately $80 MILLION during her 2022 campaign.
So clearly, Democrats have been willing to financially support a Black woman running statewide in Florida.
But could Nixon's political platform be part of the problem?
In this episode of Unshakable with April Chapman, I'm reacting to Nixon's CNN interview, examining Blackwell's questions, and discussing the economic and political implications of her proposed policies.
We're talking Medicare for All, abolishing ICE, billionaire wealth taxes, government intervention in housing, and the larger debate over democratic socialism.
And I'm asking a question that apparently makes some people VERY uncomfortable:
**When does political disagreement become racism, and when is it simply disagreement with a candidate's ideas?**
In this episode:
- Victor Blackwell challenges Angie Nixon's fundraising explanation
- Why Val Demings's 2022 fundraising matters
- Nixon's affiliation with Democratic Socialists of America
- Her proposals on health care, immigration, housing, and taxation
- Why I question the economic consequences of her platform
- The difference between legitimate criticism and racial prejudice
- The danger of treating every political rejection as evidence of discrimination
Nixon argues that some donors have concerns about racism affecting her electability. I believe her political platform also deserves serious scrutiny.
Let's examine both arguments.
**Uncompromising. Unapologetic. Unshakable.**

💬 QUESTION: Are donors underestimating Angie Nixon because of perceived racial barriers in Florida, or are her politics and prospects the bigger issue?
