CNN's Victor Blackwell came prepared to challenge me about my position on race-based congressional districts. And when he brought up my celebratory dance over redistricting, I had a few things to say!

I joined Victor Blackwell LIVE on CNN alongside LaTosha Brown, co-founder of Black Voters Matter Fund, for a spirited discussion about racial gerrymandering, Black political power, the 2026 midterms, and the political future of America.

Here's my question: Why do we keep measuring Black political power by how many Democrats get elected instead of what those elected officials actually accomplish for their constituents?

LaTosha Brown argued that redistricting is diluting Black political power. I challenged the assumption that Black voters should be politically grouped together and treated as a guaranteed voting bloc.

And then the conversation shifted to Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, allegations surrounding the Muslim Brotherhood, and concerns about Islamic extremism.

We may disagree on politics, but Americans deserve a serious discussion about representation, accountability, religious freedom, and national security.
