But nearly one year later, Reed’s relatives say they still have not received the final independent autopsy report—and that Crump stopped responding to their calls approximately seven months ago.
Now another major revelation has emerged.
According to members of Trey Reed’s family, messages were sent from his phone the evening before his death—including one reportedly stating that he intended to hang himself. That critical evidence was never previously disclosed to the public while activists and social-media commentators were suggesting that Reed had been the victim of a modern-day lynching.
So what happened?
Was the independent autopsy ever completed? Who possesses the report? Why can’t the family obtain it? And why did the advocates who descended upon this family during the height of national attention allegedly become unreachable after the cameras disappeared?
