Ben Crump has introduced two additional grieving families into the national conversation surrounding the death of Nolan Wells. His reason? All three deceased young men were Black, eighteen years old, and reportedly around white people before they died.

According to Crump, that is too “eerie” to be a coincidence.

But where is the actual evidentiary connection?

These cases involve different locations, different circumstances, different people and potentially different manners of death. Crump has not established a common perpetrator, motive, method or coordinated conspiracy. Instead, three separate tragedies are being packaged together and presented as a national racial pattern before the basic facts have been established.
